Asterix and the Helvetians. - Lot 43
Asterix and the Helvetians.
GOSCINNY - UDERZO
Asterix and the Helvetians.
Enameled plaque, limited and numbered edition.
Émaillerie Belge / Zédibulle Éditions, 2019.
Superb large-format enamel plaque depicting Asterix practicing archery (with an apple as a target, a nod to William Tell) while Obelix prepares a fondue in the background. This original drawing was originally published in Pilote (No. 580, December 1970) to announce the release of the album Asterix and the Helvetians.
Produced using traditional craft techniques by Émaillerie Belge, this exceptional piece required 5 kiln passages at over 800°C to fix its 14 colors. The result is characterized by an incomparable shine and a slight relief to the touch, typical of high-quality enameling.
