Asterix at the Olympic Games.
GOSCINNY - UDERZO
Asterix at the Olympic Games.
Dargaud, 1981. In-4 hardback, boards illustrated in color.
1981 reprint of this twelfth album in the series, originally published in 1968. In this opus, the Gauls decide to take part in the Olympic Games in Greece. Goscinny brilliantly handles anachronism and sports satire (notably on the question of magic "potions"), while Uderzo delivers magnificent plates, culminating in the ancient settings of Olympia and Athens.
Considered one of the highlights of the series, this album combines rhythmic storytelling with universal humor, perfectly illustrating the golden age of the Goscinny-Uderzo duo.
