Adolphe William Bouguereau (1825 -1905), after Baccante wrestling a goat Oil on canvas H_65 cm W_94 cm This painting, painted in 1862 and titled by Bouguereau, Baccante lutinant avec une chèvre (Baccante wrestling with a goat), is in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux. The artist had exhibited this painting under number 228 at the 1863 Salon, where it was a great success. Purchased in 1864 by the Friends of the Musée de Bordeaux, it was copied by the studio and by artists close to the painter.
