PAUL VERA (1882-1957) & MANUFACTURE ART (ATELIER DES RÉNOVATEURS DE LA TAPISSERIE) "The Four Seasons, Tapestry in hand-woven polychrome wools, decorated with figures representing the four seasons on a background of broad colored bands. Banderole titled "Hiver vous n'êtes qu'un vilain", after the poem by Charles d'Orléans (1394 - 1465), Duke of Orléans, who was taken prisoner at the battle of Azincourt in 1415 and wrote his poems in captivity. Signature in the weave of the artist's name and workshop mark, a coat of arms animated by a dove of peace, and Ami de la paix.
