GOSCINNY (René) - UDERZO (Albert). Asterix and the Goths Paris, Dargaud, 1963. Album in-4, publisher's illustrated boards. First edition of the third album in the Asterix adventures, the now emblematic work of the Goscinny-Uderzo duo. One of the most sought-after early albums in the series, with illustrations by Uderzo and dialogue by R. Goscinny. Second plate without stars, listing the 7 titles of the Collection Pilote on a single column (5 titles indicated as "déjà paru" and 2 as "vient de paraître"), in line with the very first printings. Fair condition: minor signs of use, wear to boards, minor soiling inside. Traces of scotch tape on both covers, a common but important flaw, which has become rare on surviving copies of this first edition.
