JEAN-SYLVAIN BAILLY (1736-1793) French mathematician, astronomer, writer and politician. He was the first mayor of Paris during the French Revolution. Set of 9 early 19th-century engravings depicting Jean-Sylvain Bailly. Artists: Pigeot, Jourdy, Raffet, Delpech (2), David, Courdin, Rados... Good condition, some light foxing on some documents. The "France Bailly..." sheet shows a trace of moisture in the lower left-hand corner (see photograph).
