RUDE (Sculptor). Born in Dijon. 1784-1855. Sculptor. L.A.S. "F. Rude" to Monsieur de Chenevière. Paris, October 24, 1852. ½ page in-8. The sculptor begs Monsieur de Chenevière to allow Mr. Daguet, his molder ... to make two small stampings on the bronze of the Virgin forming part of the Calvary destined for St Vincent de Paul...The Calvary of the main altar is a bronze work that François Rude executed when he was 70 years old. It is installed in the church of Saint-Vincent de Paul, in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.
