JOU (Luis Felipe-Vicente Jou i Senabre, known as Louis). Born in Gracia (Spain). 1882-1968. Painter and engraver. Original pen-and-ink drawing signed "Votre Jou", addressed to Madame Julienne, stylist at Poiret. Paris, September 10, 1928. 1 page in-4. Monogram engraved in red. Paper addressed to her. Size: 27.5 cm x 19.5 cm. An amusing drawing of Louis Jou in his automobile, waving with the caption: ...Bonjour Julienne, vous verra bientôt?... An exceptional typographer, Louis Jou is the only one of his peers to have designed and produced a book entirely by himself. He was a book designer whose influence was decisive in the evolution of the contemporary book.
