INDY (Paul Marie Théodore Vincent d'). - Lot 124
INDY (Paul Marie Théodore Vincent d').
Born in Paris. 1852-1931. French composer and teacher. Co-founder with C. Bordes and A. Guilmant of the Schola Cantorum in 1896. L.A.S. "Vincent d'Indy". Boffres, September 1 (19)19. 1 p.1/2 in-12.
In response to his request, Vincent d'Indy informs him of his plans for the coming months. ...I think, for next winter, to have at the Opéra the first performance of my "Légende de Saint Christophe". The sets, painted by Maurice Denis, will be ready, and I assume that the work will be ready for the spring of 1920. As for my other works, I think I'll have several performances of my 3rd Symphony, at the Société Nationale in October, and a little later, at the Concerts Lamoureux. In preparation, I have a Poème sur des paysages maritimes, a poem for orchestra in 3 or 4 parts, but which will certainly not be completed this year. And that's all..." he concludes, not counting a forthcoming collection of piano pieces.
