BERLIOZ (Hector).
Born in Côte-Saint-André (Isère). 1803-1869. Composer .L.A.S. "H. Berlioz" to "Mon cher Camille" (his brother-in-law Camille Pal). Paris, August 29, 1852. 1 page in-8. Small pinholes.
Berlioz confirms that he has received ...the five hundred franc bill for my September deduction. I thank you for your accuracy... he adds. He has just been...seriously ill, but here I am on my feet again...Berlioz had two sisters. The elder, Anne-Marguerite, also called Nanci, married Camille Pal, a notary from Grenoble, in January 1832. Berlioz maintained a loyal relationship with his parents, evidenced to the end of his life by an extensive correspondence. He was courteous, especially towards his two brothers-in-law (Marc Suat, Adèle's husband, a notary in Vienne, and Camille Pal, Nanci's husband). Berlioz had entrusted each of them with the management of one of his properties in the Dauphiné. In 1853, Berlioz empowered Camille Pal to collect the arrears on one of his farms.Corr. générale (P. Citron, 1972-75), T IV, N° 1513.
