...Here, I believe, is the sample you require. I bought this paper from Züber, the great manufacturer in Alsace, whose warehouse is at no. 38 Boulevard Beaumarchais (...). Victor Hugo, present at the senator's funeral, recalled "his scrupulous loyalty, his respect for his word, his unreserved devotion to liberty, to the Republic, to the revolution". Edmond Adam had married the woman of letters and publisher Juliette Lamber, whose Parisian salon was frequented by political and artistic notables.
