Spiral-bound, photographic cover with title and author's name. The Kyoto Palace is one of the most important traditional buildings in Japan. Kishida visited and photographed it many times, hoping to publish a book about the building. The war brought the project to a halt, and the authorities decided to remove the corridors linking the outbuildings to avoid fires caused by bombing. From 1945 onwards, the palace remained unremarkable with its separate buildings. Based on his photographs taken in the 1940s, Kishida here attempts to photographically reconstruct the "Kyoto Gosho" in harmony with its "lost" details. (101832). Two volumes
