IMPORTANT "FONTAINEBLEAU" GOGOTTE An important "gogotte" known as "Fontainebleau". An important "gogotte H 64 x L 50 x P 25 cm - H 25 1/4 x W 19 3/4 x D 9 7/8 in. Concretion formed within the "Sables de Fontainebleau" geological formation, dating back some 30 million years. Made up of tiny quartz grains cemented by calcium carbonate-laden water infiltration, gogottes are supernaturally shaped. They fascinated Louis XIV, who used them to decorate the gardens at Versailles.
