Hard porcelain cup-shaped teacup on pedestal, decorated with a frieze of gilded capraires on a midnight-blue ground, white interior. Gilded handle.
Sèvres mark in blue 1835, molder's mark 33, inscription on heel rim "D.2 SJ 345".

The "capraire" service, named after its decorative motifs, appeared during the First Empire, around 1808. It was subsequently used for royal and imperial services. It is still used today to serve the presidential table at the Elysée Palace.
