                            LIQUEUR CELLAR - Lot 86

                        LIQUEUR CELLAR
Four-sided liquor cellar with ebony-stained mahogany frame, the surface treated in the manner of an all-face "Boulle" marquetry: tortoiseshell veneer and gilded brass featuring cut-out leathers and a network of foliate scrolls. The top of the lid is encircled by an ormolu border featuring a frieze of ovals. The side handles, closing key and sabots, also in gilded bronze, feature a neo-Rococo ornamental vocabulary of scrolls and shells.
The two-part hinged hood reveals a mahogany interior fitted with tiered receptacles for glass service. It contains four baluster-shaped crystal decanters engraved with gilded painted starry quatrefoils and florets, and 15 glasses (one missing).
(Traces of wear, lifting to the veneer)
