CHINA 20th Century CHINA 20th Century Important nevé blue subject in Chinese white depicting the goddess Guanyin, goddess of Mercy, standing on a lotus. Guanyin is a shortened form of Guanshiyin, "who considers the sounds of the world", and is known to pause for a moment on the path of the Way, to observe mankind and lend a sympathetic ear to their misfortunes. H. 67 cm (one little finger broken)
