GEORGES REMI DIT HERGÉ (1907-1983) The adventures of Tintin and Snowy in the Congo Les Éditions du Petit Vingtième / "Coeurs Vaillants",1931. Green back, 7th mile album. The mille refers not to the number of books printed, but to a production run, in this case the 7th, which ranged from 1 to 1,000 books. Black & white edition identical to the first edition of Le Petit Vingtième, the 1st plate with 2 glued headbands, one bearing the words "Et Milou" at the top, the other the words "Coeurs Vaillants" / 82, rue de l'université - Paris, (VII)" at the bottom. Extremely rare edition, of which only 5 are known. Complete with "Coeurs Vaillants" stickers on the white endpapers and on the 4th cover. Very good condition, top corners slightly worn, 4th cover soiled. A very fine album.
