Bronze group with brown patina. Inscribed "vie des peintres" on the book.

Surrounded by the attributes of the Arts and Sciences, the putti adore and pay homage to the goddess Minerva. This iconography was very popular in the late 18th century, as illustrated by a gouache by Jacques Charlier in 1782 (Paris, musée Cognacq-Jay, inv. J138).
