[periodicals]. La Renaissance de l'Art français et des indus - Lot 154
[periodicals]. La Renaissance de l'Art français et des industries de luxe. Fairly complete continuation of this excellent monthly art magazine created at the end of 1918 by Henry Lapauze, curator of the Petit Palais. Highly eclectic and open to contemporary creations, particularly in the arts of the home, the magazine's flat-backed 4° paperback format features variable pagination from 50 to 72 pages, and up to 122 for certain special issues, carefully illustrated with color h-t on hardback. In all, over 600 annual pages plus numerous pages of highly interesting advertising. Lapauze surrounded himself with the most qualified collaborators, such as Arséne Alexandre, H. Clouzot, P. Sentenac, G. Janneau, M. Gauthier... and even Puvis de Chavannes. In detail, the proposed set of 83 issues, covering the period of the 1925 Exhibition, begins in March 1921 and ends in May 1928 (missing February and March 1926, March 1927 and January 1928; to be confirmed). Very good overall condition, despite a small number of frayed or corroded covers and cracked, scuffed or even detached spines. (GZ142)
