[periodicals]. Les Arts Français. - Lot 137
[periodicals]. Les Arts Français.
12 issues from the beginning of the publication. Paris, Larousse, 8° paperback with soft cover, variable pagination from 30 to 60 pages, illustrated with B&W photos in and out of text; proposed are nos. 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 11 of 1917; 17 / 20 / 23 of 1918 and 27 / 29 of 1919. Mediocrely printed on wartime paper, but of great documentary interest as it was devoted to the life of the decorative arts during the War and actively prepared for reconstruction, hosting among other things the bulletin of the Comité Central des Arts Appliqués (under the supervision of the Ministry of Fine Arts), whose mission was to encourage redeployment after the war. From the 2nd year onwards, the editorial team opted for thematic issues (among the issues proposed were those devoted to reinforced cement, Peignot typographers, rural construction, comparative art and furniture for devastated provinces). This publication ceased publication in Dec. 1919; among the various heritage collections, only the BnF seems to have preserved a complete series. One spine split with separate cover, minor defects including pencil inscriptions on some covers and in comments to some articles (GZ138).
