IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE IMAGE. — An exhibition at Galerie v - Lot 5
IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE IMAGE. — An exhibition at Galerie van de Loo. Munich, Villa Stuck, n.d. In-4, paperback, white cover illustrated in black and red. An important exhibition catalog devoted to postwar European painting, featuring artists from the CoBrA movement, Informel, and New Figuration, among others. Organized by Galerie van de Loo at Villa Stuck in Munich, this exhibition brings together works by numerous major artists of the second half of the 20th century: Pierre Alechinsky, Karel Appel, Georg Baselitz, Günter Brus, Miriam Cahn, Constant, Corneille, Jean Dubuffet, Jean Fautrier, Asger Jorn, Henri Michaux, Max Neumann, A. R. Penck, Arnulf Rainer, Antonio Saura, Antoni Tàpies, and Wols, among others. The book showcases the richness of European artistic exploration, from Expressionism to gestural abstraction, including the experiments of CoBrA. Numerous black-and-white and color reproductions, including *Boîte noire* (1983) by Pierre Alechinsky. Text in German. A good copy, with slight signs of wear on the cover.
