FLORISOONE (Michel). The Great Italian Masters. 16th–17th Ce - Lot 105
FLORISOONE (Michel). The Great Italian Masters. 16th–17th Centuries. Paris, Fernand Nathan, n.d. [20th century]. In-4, paperback, cream-colored cloth-bound cover with a pasted-on title label. A major overview by Michel Florisoone, then curator at the Louvre Museum, devoted to the great masters of Italian painting of the 16th and 17th centuries. The book is lavishly illustrated with black-and-white reproductions, including full-page and inset images, featuring in particular the major Italian schools and works by Titian and Veronese, as well as masters and followers of Leonardo da Vinci, including Giovanni Antonio Boltraffio. Cover is slightly soiled and faded; title page is heavily stained and shows signs of adhesive residue or moisture, with some signs of wear and foxing. Interior is generally in satisfactory condition despite these flaws.
