COPPIER (André-Charles). Rembrandt’s Etchings: The Complete - Lot 71
COPPIER (André-Charles). Rembrandt’s Etchings: The Complete Works. The “Hundred Florins” Technique. A Chronological Catalog of the Etchings and Print States. Paris, Librairie Armand Colin, 1922. Large quarto, paperback, cover printed in red and black and illustrated with a reproduction of a Rembrandt etching. An important study by André-Charles Coppier devoted to Rembrandt’s engravings, including an analysis of his technique—particularly that of the famous “One Hundred Florins” print—and a chronological catalog of his etchings and their various states. The book is lavishly illustrated with reproductions both within the text and as full-page plates. Among these, several are based on proofs printed by Coppier from Rembrandt’s original copper plates, notably *David in Prayer* (B. 41), which constitutes one of the book’s particular documentary interests. Paperback copy. Cover slightly browned and dusty, with minor wear and marginal tears; interior generally well-preserved.
