The book offers a particularly vivid photographic account of the year following the Liberation: Allied soldiers in Paris, the civilian population, street scenes, demonstrations, ceremonies, the return to daily life, and the consequences of the war. The layout, which is very modern, makes extensive use of full-page photographs and photomontages. Condition: fair. The hardcover is heavily scuffed and scratched; the caps and spine are worn; there is damage to the spine and corners; the interior shows some foxing and signs of wear, but the photographs are generally well preserved.
