Very small pocket-sized volume, in an old soft vellum binding with visible raised bands on the spine. 16th-CENTURY PLANTINIAN EDITION, bringing together the three great Latin elegiac poets. Title page adorned with Christophe Plantin’s famous typographic mark of a compass and his motto, *Labore et Constantia*. The edition is well documented: Antwerp, Christophe Plantin, 1587, 213 pages, in-24 format. It belongs to the remarkable series of classics that Plantin had printed in this tiny format, intended particularly for travelers and students; bibliographic works on the Plantin press specifically cite this edition of Catullus, Tibullus, and Propertius under the reference Voet 935. Unfortunately, the copy is quite worn: the vellum is heavily worn and soiled, the stitching is visible, the corners and caps are damaged, the pages are browned and stained, and there are a few visible tears and marginal defects.
