FRANCE — Marianne de Gandon — 6 francs, red Fourth Republic. Commonly used stamp featuring the Marianne de Gandon design, face value 6 francs, red. Portrait of the Republic wearing a Phrygian cap; “RF,” “POSTES.” Designed by Pierre Gandon, engraved by Cortot. Cancelled specimen on a small fragment, perforated. Yellowed paper and backing, a few stains; perforations show irregularities.
