Catalog of the major exhibition held at the Orangerie des Tuileries from November 7, 1972, to February 26, 1973. Catalogue edited by Colette Noll, in collaboration with Francine N’Diaye and Simone Rouayroux, with a preface by Pierre Meauzé. A major collection of African sculptures drawn exclusively from French public collections, documenting in particular the arts of the Yoruba, Nago, Baoulé, Dogon, Lulua, Tschokwé, Adioukrou, and others. Each work is reproduced and accompanied by a description specifying provenance, materials, dimensions, and history. Bibliography at the end of the volume. A reference catalog for the history of French public collections of African art. Some slight scuffing and signs of wear on the cover, mainly on the headpieces and corners; interior is fresh. A fine copy.
