BUHOT (Jean) — Chinese Art Paris, Les Éditions du Chêne, 1951. “Arts du Monde” series, edited by Georges de Miré. In-8, 172 pp., publisher’s cardboard binding with cloth spine, with illustrated dust jacket. Photographs by Jacqueline Hyde. One color frontispiece and 114 black-and-white reproductions, both in the text and as plates. A comprehensive study of the arts of China, from ancient times through the imperial dynasties: sculpture, bronzes, ceramics, jade, painting, and the decorative arts. The book, published in 1951, is part of the Éditions du Chêne’s interesting “Arts du Monde” documentary collection. A complete copy with its illustrated dust jacket. Interior in generally good condition. Dust jacket is worn, sun-faded on the spine, with scuffing, small tears, and missing sections at the top and bottom edges, particularly at the top of the spine; corners are slightly scuffed.
