SPIROU - Journal Album, No. 70 Dupuis, January 1959. Large quarto hardcover, red cloth spine, front cover illustrated in color. A very fine vintage collection of *Le Journal Spirou*, corresponding to issue No. 70, compiling issues No. 1081 through No. 1091—that is, the very beginning of 1959, right in the midst of the classic Dupuis era. The particularly evocative cover depicts the Count of Champignac standing in front of a red automobile, in a nocturnal setting with bare trees, beneath a full moon. The artwork, by André Franquin, is one of the iconic covers of the late 1950s collections. This issue is part of the highly sought-after series of vintage 54–70 collections, particularly prized by fans of Franquin, Spirou and Fantasio, and Marsupilami.
