SPIROU - Journal Compilation, No. 67 - Lot 196
SPIROU - Journal Compilation, No. 67 Dupuis, 1958. Large quarto hardcover, red cloth spine, front cover illustrated in color. A very fine vintage collection of *Le Journal Spirou*, corresponding to issue No. 67 of the famous series of hardcover albums published by Dupuis. This volume brings together issues No. 1050 through 1059, published in 1958, during the Marcinelle School’s golden age of publishing. It features the great artists of the Dupuis publishing house—Franquin, Morris, Peyo, Will, and Roba—from a period particularly sought after by collectors. The particularly appealing cover features the Count of Champignac, Spirou, Fantasio, and the Marsupilami in an interior scene instantly recognizable to Franquin fans. The caption “There’s a mystery in Champignac!” further enhances the volume’s visual appeal, which is highly representative of the Spirou and Fantasio universe of the late 1950s.
