VENTEJOL, Gabriel (Tulle, 1919 – Paris, 1987) French labor union leader, confederal secretary of Force Ouvrière, and later president of the Economic and Social Council from 1975 to 1977. Printed greeting card with a signed autograph inscription Economic and Social Council, Palais d’Iéna, 1976–1977 Printed two-panel card, featuring a view of the Palais d’Iéna on the cover, with the commemorative inscription “1947–1977”; printed text inside and a handwritten message signed “Ventejol.” An elegant official greeting card issued by the president of the Economic and Social Council on the occasion of the institution’s thirtieth anniversary. The inside bears a handwritten message addressed to Mrs. Hirschfeld, written in a personal and friendly tone: “Best wishes, which I hope you will share with Mr. Hirschfeld…” The item is of historical interest to enthusiasts of French political and social life during the Fifth Republic, and also has definite decorative appeal due to the imagery of the Palais d’Iéna.
