A beautiful manuscript, extensively revised and corrected, of this poem in which Samain evokes
…The cow with swollen udders dreams by the sea
Of the still and mysterious sea (…)
The cow dreams in the silence of the plains (…)
Where her bell casts a silvery glow into the evening.
It seems as though her eyes drink from the celestial sky
That which turns to milk in her full udders. (…)
The red sun fills her eyes with dark purple
And casts wicked glimmers into her heart. (…)
O Heifer, sister with white eyelashes whom I invoke from my bed,
I envy your august life and your magnificent peace…
