BOUQUERET (Christian) & BERTHOUD (Christophe). - Lot 38
BOUQUERET (Christian) & BERTHOUD (Christophe). Roger Parry, the Fabulous Meteor. Paris, Marval / Mission du Patrimoine photographique, 1993. Large quarto, publisher’s hardcover with illustrated dust jacket. First edition of the first major monograph devoted to Roger Parry (1905–1977), a major yet long-overlooked figure of the French photographic avant-garde of the interwar period. The book traces his entire career: his photographic experiments inspired by Moholy-Nagy, his photograms, solarizations, double exposures, and collages; his connections to Surrealism; his work for Gallimard; his role as a set photographer on Jean Vigo’s *L’Atalante*; and his subsequent career as a war correspondent and technical director of the *L’Univers des Formes* collection. Richly illustrated with numerous reproductions, many of which come from private collections, it remains the definitive reference work on Roger Parry. Condition: very good copy, dust jacket in excellent condition, interior fresh.
