Asterix Among the Helvetii. - Lot 36
Asterix Among the Helvetii. GOSCINNY - UDERZO Asterix Among the Helvetii. Enamel plaque, limited and numbered edition. Émaillerie Belge / Zédibulle Éditions, 2019. A superb, large-format enamel plaque depicting Asterix practicing archery (with an apple as his target, a nod to William Tell) while Obelix prepares a fondue in the background. This original illustration was first published in the magazine *Pilote* (No. 580, December 1970) to announce the release of the *Asterix Among the Helvetians* album. Crafted using traditional artisanal techniques by Émaillerie Belge, this exceptional piece required five firings at over 800°C to set its 14 colors. The finish is characterized by an incomparable luster and a slight raised texture to the touch, typical of high-quality enameling. Certificate of Origin and Authenticity: Publisher: Tony Dhaussy - Zédibulle Éditions. Manufacturer: Émaillerie Belge (Brussels). Date: January 14, 2019. Edition: Limited series of 105 copies (100 numbered + 5 not for sale). Numbering: This copy is numbered 52/100. Physical description: Domed enameled metal plaque, signed by Uderzo & Goscinny in the pattern at the bottom right. The colors (meadow green, the blue and white of Obélix’s breeches, and snow-capped peaks) are perfectly saturated. The piece is in mint condition and comes with its original paper certificate. A prestigious collector’s item, produced under official license from Éditions Albert René.
