MUENSTERBERGER (W.) Paris, F. de Nobele / Bussum (Netherlands), 1948. A large illustrated quarto volume containing 116 reproductions, including eight in color, devoted exclusively to Van Gogh’s drawings, studies, and preparatory works. The book sheds light on a fundamental aspect of the artist’s work that is often overshadowed by the fame of his paintings. A postwar edition that is now rare, particularly prized for its documentary illustrations and the quality of its selection of graphic works. The dust jacket is very worn, but the volume is complete.
