SPIROU - Journal album, n°63 - Lot 93
SPIROU - Journal album, n°63 Dupuis, 1957. Large in-4 hardback, red cloth spine, first cover illustrated in color. A very handsome early collection from Journal Spirou, corresponding to issue 63 of the historic suite of Dupuis-bound albums. This volume brings together issues no. 1009 to 1018, published in 1957, at the heart of the newspaper's most sought-after period, the golden age of the Marcinelle school. Here we find the great names who make these collections so valuable today: Franquin, Morris, Peyo, Will, Roba, Paape, at a time when the Marsupilami and Dupuis' flagship series were booming. The particularly decorative cover features a giant Marsupilami paw, with the little animal caught in its own tail, in a spectacular composition immediately recognizable to Franquin fans.
