SPIROU - Journal album, n°58 - Lot 88
SPIROU - Journal album, n°58 Dupuis, July 1956. Large in-4 hardback, gray cloth spine, first cover illustrated in color. A rare and sought-after early collection from Journal Spirou, corresponding to number 58 of the prestigious series of bound albums published by Dupuis. This volume includes issues no. 951 to 963, covering the period from July 5 to September 27, 1956, at the height of the newspaper's expansion and that of the Marcinelle school. It features the great historical signatures of Franco-Belgian comics, including Franquin, Morris, Peyo, Jijé, Will and Eddy Paape, in a period particularly sought-after by collectors. The cover, highly decorative and instantly recognizable, shows a lion in attack position, while in the background appears the Marsupilami, in a scene emblematic of Franquin's graphic universe. This issue is one of the most popular among old Spirou fans, particularly for the presence of key series from the mid-1950s. Legal deposit: July 1956.
