Annibale Carracci (1560-1609), entourage of The Triumph of Bacchus Oil on canvas in grisaille H_ 75.5 cm W_ 53.5 cm Faded, restoration report 2005. Our painting reproduces, in grisaille, the right part of the Triumph of Bacchus, a fresco by Annibale Carracci and his brother Agostino Carracci on the ceiling of the Villa Farnese. Painted in the Carracci entourage, this work is a precious testimony to the interest their contemporaries took in this major decorative cycle.
