AUGUSTE BROUET (1872-1941) "The Watch Repairman", Etching, signed in pencil in the lower right-hand corner of the etching. Date : 1900/10. Print run: unknown - Numbered "403". Collector's dry stamp lower right of the etching. Dimensions: Sheet: 20.7 x 27cm - Bowl: 19.3 x 15 cm Color : light buff Brouet left over four hundred prints. He was influenced by Rembrandt, whose etching technique he drew heavily on. He drew his subjects from working-class environments, notably the village of Montmartre with its prostitutes, dancers, circuses, modest interiors, etc. Description: the artist presents the quays of the Seine in Paris in its modern setting, with barges and a tugboat passing under the Pont Neuf. On the right, in the foreground, a café with its first customers. Condition: good condition - folds in top right corner and left corner.
