Paris, Jean de Bonnot, 1978. 1 volume, in-8 format, 305 pp., publisher’s full garnet leather binding, covers entirely adorned with a spectacular gilded composition featuring Greek warriors, weapons, and shields, framed in the Greek style, with a gilded lyre in the center; smooth spine richly decorated in the same style, title “Homer—The Iliad” in gilt, gilt headband. An extensively illustrated edition based on the iconography of ancient Greece, featuring numerous full-page illustrations and illustrations within the text. The bibliography confirms this 1978 Parisian edition by Jean de Bonnot, measuring approximately 22 cm, with illustrations by Notor, Viscount de Roton. A very fine copy. The binding is particularly decorative, with the gilding on the covers and spine very well preserved. There are a few very slight marks and signs of wear on the cap bands and corners, but nothing serious. The interior is clean and fresh.
