SERGE ROVINSKY (1895-1945) & CHARPENTIER (LACQUERER) Brown lacquered wood display case (slightly cracked) with a slightly stepped, curved quadrangular body and a central glazed top section with a gilded lacquer background. Eight solid front doors open onto mahogany veneered pedestals housing adjustable-height shelves (three right-of-ways). One shelf missing. Solid legs. Lacquered edges. Original keys. H 160 x W 186 x D 50 cm PROVENANCE : - Piece made for Miss Nadine Oxnard's apartment by Serge Rovinsky in the early 1930s. - Collection Jean et Roseline Soustiel, Paris BIBLIOGRAPHY : Georges Rémon, "Un appartement meublé et décoré par Serge Rovinsky", "Mobilier & Décoration", Paris July 1932, our showcase reproduced p. 328.
