JEAN ROYÈRE (1902-1981) Pair of "Écusson" chairs, model created circa 1937, varnished ash structure, tapered front legs, flattened tapered rear legs. Trapezoidal seat and escutcheon back upholstered in used floral fabric. Bleached varnish. H 79 x W 42 x D 50 cm PROVENANCE : Ordered in 1956 and delivered in 1957 to decorate a Paris apartment. Original estimate and invoice. Since then, it has remained in the family of the commissioning parties.
